Let’s not pretend like the Bills don’t have one of the worst big game defenses of all time, Sean McDermott is fucking terrorist who coasted to a head coaching career by having one of the best linebackers of all time running his defense

Kuechly was really good yeah. But notice how you could only refute the one slide 👀. Honestly that one was a throwaway tbh too I had a hard time thinking of what to put there, might’ve gone oline looking back but they weren’t as good as the year before, probably not top 3 again

I mean each time Allen has played the Chiefs in the postseason he’s been damn near perfect, he’s got 11 total touchdowns and 1 turnover but that McDermott defense let the Chiefs drive into field goal range in 13 seconds, that defense gave up 32 to the worst Chiefs offense since Mahomes became the starter (2024), Bass missed clutch field goals in 2023, and in 2020 nobody even gave the Bills a shot

Football and basketball are vastly different sports and individual football players are much more beholden to the team than individual basketball players. LeBron can backpack guys who don’t belong to the Finals, but in football the team that makes the Super Bowl is gonna need more than a quarterback. Also, James Cook is in my opinion a little overrated. He’s good but he’s not Saquon, K9, Jonathan Taylor, Devon Achane, Bijan Robinson, or Jamhyrr Gibbs

I said most productive instead of best for a reason. It’s why I circled the yards lol

A lot of stats like that can be misleading

Rushing yards is one of the least misleading stats in the nfl. I’d argue it IS the least misleading. Receiving yards is vulnerable to the qb, passing yards include yards after catch, receiving tds and passing tds can be suspect because of stuff like pitches and screens counting for passing TDS. Jalen hurts was a big perpetrator of this like 8 of his passing tds were pitches to goedert at the one

True, but I think a big part of the reason Cook was so productive was the total lack of competent pass catchers in Buffalo

Rushing tds don’t account for short yardage stuff like tush pushes or goal line handoffs. James cook actually led the league in 2024 because of the said short yardage stuff. Interceptions still count if they’re tipped at the line or bounce off a receiver’s hands and get caught by a defender, but rushing yards? RBs earn every damn one of those

Allen is great, but they don’t have the weapons to maximize the passing game

If cook led the league in carries as well you’d have a point, but he didn’t. Plus the lack of competent pass catchers actually hurt the run game since teams can just stuff the box and play zone and not have to worry about receivers, plus the threat of Allen also demands more defenders in the box. Cook leading the league in rushing despite this is actually even more impressive
