Two completely different types of players in terms of skill set I disagree

Entirely different types players, plus dak’s oline is really good and jalen can actually win important games and is better than dak. Next question.

Not even remotely similar players in terms of playstyle. If you’re saying they’re of a similar level then fine, but they couldn’t me more different as players

Difference is Dak just needs reliable receivers to play at a high level…Hurts needs great/good play calling and great play from everyone around him especially the offensive line. Also Hurts has had the better OL so idk what your argument is trying to get at especially since Dak is a more complete QB and doesn’t play anything like Hurts.

I misread the argument a little bit. Dak has had the weaker teams yet has played better with less.

Hurts played well in 2021 when the only good receiver he had was rookie Devonta Smith. The argument that he needs elite talent to succeed is overblown. He benefits from the team around him, but he more than holds up his end of the bargain.

Hurts was mediocre in 2021 and didn’t start playing decently until Steichen took over play calling from Siri. Hurts needs the perfect situation to play near a high level.

16 TD-9 INT. He was Bryce Young with stronger legs lol. What happened in the Bucs playoff game in 2023?

4000 total yards and 26 tds, then lost a playoff game. Dak is no stranger to that and Hurts has more than made up for that playoff loss.

Siri is a notoriously shit play caller and Hurts continued to play well with two coordinators after that

When he had the Avengers around him lmao. Take away AJ Brown and Saquon and he gets blown out by a 9-8 NFC South team in the wildcard. Hurts isn’t even a top 5 player on his own offense.

I don’t recall Hurts having Saquon in ‘22 or ‘23. And there are lots of great QBs that needed an elite WR to take a step forward. Burrow and Allen needed Chase and Diggs, Hurts needed AJB.

I do agree that he isn’t a top 5 qb on his own offense, he obviously has a great supporting cast. He’s still a great qb tho, the fact that your argument is made up of hypothetical scenarios says everything.

I also don’t recall Hurts winning anything in 22 or 23, hmm. Allen also literally just won the MVP without Diggs, and Burrow is throwing for 40+ TDs with his weapons, while Hurts is barely an above average starter with a comparable WR duo, far better RB, and a FAAARR better O-Line.

How are you gonna call a guy great when he’s in offensive paradise and still doesn’t produce like any of the other top guys?

You need to check your memory then bc he won a lot in 2022. And Hurts is a lot more than above average your Eagles hate is showing

I don’t think he’s as good as Burrow or Allen, I was just demonstrating that young QBs often need elite WRs to take a step forward.

Nah, he’s right around above average. Somewhere in the top 9-12 range. And 1 great (not elite) season surrounded by good at best seasons isn’t all that.

Then why is it that Hurts has only regressed since his 2022 season?

He was elite in 2022 and now he’s only very good, I’m not worried.

He’s in the 5-8 range, which is well above Dak

5-8 is ridiculous lmao. The big 4 are a given, then I’d easily take Herbert, Stafford, Daniels, and Stroud over him. I’d also consider putting Dak, Love, and Goff above him.

Herbert is only top 8 in one pm time slots. Stafford and Daniels are fair, although I’d like to see Daniels put another year of tape out before I make that call. Stroud has a higher ceiling, but he regressed hard last year. Dak is coming off a horrible season, Love is a turnover machine, and Goff is THE surroundings guy lmao

Hurts is too reliant on play calling and a stacked team to hide his flaws which are pretty big issues and have been exposed when the play calling wasn’t at least good. To be in that stacked of an offense yet never having the playbook fully opened to allow him to air it out consistently like a true elite QB is very telling of him limiting the offense. Hurts is barely a top 15 QB and likely won’t be in the top 15 after this season.

The offense is elite, so he doesn’t have to air it out. No reason to have your QB throw 40 times a game when you have a great run game and ur playing with the lead. Same with Mahomes, he doesn’t have to play hero ball because the Chiefs can win with defense and ball control

Can you tell me a time when Hurts has truly elevated his team though? Put the team on his back when things weren’t ideal? He seems to crumble whenever things aren’t perfect (Bucs game)

Mahomes does have to air it out bc the Chiefs run game is mediocre at best. Also hitting normal player accolades like 4k+ passing yards and or 25+ passing TDs doesn’t require a QB airing it out every single game. The Eagles use Hurts like a game manager bc that’s what he is, he’s not a game changer and it’s why he struggles when the situation isn’t perfect. Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Lamar, Herbert etc. have all played above their situations even when things weren’t desirable…can’t say the same for

Hurts especially with seasons like 2021 and 2023 on his resume showing that he’s very clearly benefiting from play calling and the loaded roster when he plays well bc he doesn’t play well when the play calling isn’t good/great. Someone that inconsistent in play isn’t a top 10 QB.
