Stadium noise can make you not able to hear the queue for the snap right, plus they’re really strict. I remember once during an eagles game cam jurgens got called for a false start because he turned his head to the side too fast to hear an audible

that’s like a reasonable thing but with the game on the line it’s insane. I get if you can’t hear the snap count. but then don’t move till the guy next to you move and hope to god you react fast enough to block or hope your qb or someone else picks it up. killing a drive can not be the thing you do

Missing the snap by even a second and getting run over by a dtackle or edge to cause a long sack id argue might be worse than the much smaller chance of incurring a 5 yard penalty. Not to mention the unblocked rusher could easily cause a strip sack or hit the qb as they throw leading to an interception
