They won the Super Bowl literally the season before last and are one of the most popular teams in the league, as well as just being contenders. I don’t see how exactly 8 primetimes is insane

Just to give you an example of how popular the eagles are, I can’t remember a single non primetime eagles game outside of week 18 that wasn’t called by either Fox or cbs’s top two announcing duos. Philly btw also has the fourth biggest media market in the United States. Some rankings measure the Philly metro area differently and have it 5th but it’s still top 5. If any teams in the league should have 8 primetime games, the eagles are definitely one of them

It is crazy because no team in the past 10 years at least but I would assume a lot longer than that has had more than 7. Usually the most any team has is 5 and sometimes 6.

Swear the cowboys had 8 last year but I might be tripping. Plus the nfl probably caught onto the “even year odd year” curse permeating the org and figures they’ll go 14-3 again. Also 2 of the 8 games are like pseudo primetime. Saturday and 9:30am on a Sunday really aren’t actual primetime games, so they fall into the 6 game number

Plus the cowboys game seems to be purely luck of the draw of which cowboys opponent gets to play them seeing as how the eagles haven’t played them on Thanksgiving in any of the last 11 seasons despite winning TWO superbowls in that time period and only missing the playoffs 3ish times. I mean they let the GIANTS play the cowboys on Thanksgiving back in 2024 and 22 and the commanders in 2023 clearly there’s some randomness to it

Prime time is when they are the only team playing, the last game of the day, or on a holiday
