Everyone can have their opinions on Goff and that’s fine I agree he’s not an elite qb but I’m not gonna hate on the dude who helped Detroit become good and I think he’s improved significantly from where he was in la

I don’t think that’s a bad thing outs up good stats and has been good in the playoffs in Detroit outside of one game I don’t hate him probably for that reason

Never ask a woman her age, never ask a man his salary, and never ask Jared Goff to perform well in a huge game

He did tho in the wild card against la and the divisional and the nfc championship against San Fran am I going crazy here?

Goff stinks it up in the playoffs everywhere he’s been. If he was on a super cheap deal that allowed the Lions to surround him with lots of talent it’d at least be not as big of a problem but even when things seem to be going well he finds a way to choke. When the QB of your team holds the team back then it’s a problem.

Goff choking in the NFCCG and Purdy clutching up is why the Lions lost.

Dawg Josh reynolds dropping the ball and Gibbs fumble is why

And yea it wa sa huge game detours first playoff game at home against the rams who were on fire and against his former team and staffords first game back in Detroit

I remember Goff having to make plays on his own and struggling a lot bc he couldn’t rely on pa passes

Stafford helped Detroit become good, his trade is what set the team up. Goff has remained the same, McVay seen that he’s too reliant on the ground game and Pa passes to perform well so he moved on from him.

Ngl it’s been a minute since I watched it but I remember Goff being forced to become a drop back because San Fran adjusted their fronts and the run game wasn’t working or Gibbs had jus fumbled

That’s literally what I’m getting at. Once that happened and the 49ers forced him to make plays on his own he choked. Goff can’t make plays on his own.

Ok I agree then but I also acknowledge that the entire game wasn’t on Goff either and I think he’s improved greatly from being in la in my opinion

No he’s improved pre snap significant in la Mcvay didn’t really Let him check out of stuff with Ben and Detroit he had options and had a lot of freedom pre snap to get to the right play and yea any qb needs a run game and play action

Let’s look at how they perform as players and how the offenses have to use them instead of just basing an argument off of accolades. Goff on the Bengals that SB year is not leading them to the SB. Burrow on the Lions would’ve lead them to a SB and possibly have even won.

McVay an offensive genius realized Goff couldn’t be relied on and Goff heavily relies on the ground game and Pa passes, like that’s what the offense has to run to open up the pass game for Goff. They’ve done numbers breaking this down, when the ground game gets stopped and they force Goff to drop back and throw he plays like shit.

I never said he doesn’t I’m replying to u saying that he hasn’t improved when he has as a pre snap qb he’s gotten smarter significantly I watchedbim torch Brian Flores when nobody had an answer for Minnesota

Bc the Lions ground game was going off which opens up Pa passes etc. that’s why the Vikings beefed up the trenches.

Ok u can’t jus knock a qb for being super good and elite at something every qb has that im not saying Goff is better than Lamar burrow or Allen but he’s solid and a good starter and the nfc is t a conference that is reliant on monster qbs it’s more stacking a roster and getting a qb good enough a exception is Washington but look at all Super Bowl contenders in the cofetence Philly Detroit Minnesota even the rams are shifting that way due to Staffords age

If a QB plays like crap when the run game is dead and Pa passes can’t be set up then he is not that good of a QB. Sure he can be a serviceable starter but he’s not a long term solution.

Yes but he’s obviously been a decent solution for derogatory as he’s helped us win playoff games now don’t get me wrong if someone offered Lamar for Goff I’d take it in a heartbeat but at least he gives Detroit some time to look for a answer as he ages

Yeah I’m not saying he’s complete garbage but he’s not the guy that’s going to lead them to a SB win unless a lot of injuries and luck happen for them. The Lions need to draft a QB in this year’s draft bc if the projected QBs pan out as they’re projected to be there’s gonna be a lot of good QBs to draft.

I think he can just because of how talented the roster is and yes we do need to find an eventual replacement but there’s no need to go into a Super Bowl or bust mode I think Detroit is modeling themselves after Philly
