Game and fish gives a certain amount of permits out for hunting each animal, with deer being easy to get a tag for and rarer animals that need less human management like mountain lions being much harder/more expensive to get a tag. Game & fish manages populations with the amount of tags given out. I guarantee he didn’t post it on social media as a high-profile person without getting a tag to hunt it because game&fish would be up his ass. Stick to the endorsing Trump to hate him
That's at least a better take than hating someone for hunting a specific animal that's legal to hunt. At least you being a vegetarian is a consistent frame of thought. I don't agree, because animals are here for food, and it's entirely natural to eat animals, but I respect that more than hating the mountain lion for no reason specifically.
And you can tell OP doesn’t know much about hunting as the mountain lions population in the US isn’t endangered. In fact, it’s very stable and expanding in some cases. Heck, in my state it’s basically year round season if you’ve got a license. Also mountain lions population meat is quite tasty as well.
Absolutely wild to me this post seems to upset you as much as it has. Your opinion on this is very much in the minority. 95% of people see someone shoot a majestic animal like a mountain lion for no reason other than a picture and a wall mount and assume there’s something wrong with them.
Also if we’re speaking objectively here, animals aren’t ‘here for’ us in the first place. A mountain lion exists for the same reason we do: evolution and survival. Saying animals exist for human consumption is just humans placing themselves at the center of everything. Nature doesn’t assign animals a purpose based on what benefits us
I mean the game they played was in Cali where species of mountain lions are absolutely considered endangered, but I can’t say where the photo was specifically taken. That being said Ole Miss and Penn State are definitely not rivals and like you said he’s a shitty person for other reasons lmao
