This isn’t an anti Caleb Williams post. There’s just undeniably better options. Stafford, Micah, Watt, Rodgers (as a legacy thing), Jefferson, Chase, Kelce, Dak, Garrett, and Derrick Henry to name a few
Going with CW13 is weird considering they could’ve used the league MVP

i don’t disagree, but i think aside from maybe JSN, bo nix, drake maye, etc. the past season put a lot of focus on caleb williams & that’s the direction madden has been trending. as in, who is the trending player not who are the most talented or deserving

Don’t forget reigning Super Bowl MVP (among active quarterbacks) Jalen Hurts

Rodgers and Dak would be awful choices, but otherwise I agree

it’s about marketability not just success on the field. they knew the hate CW would get, that probably played a big part in that choice.

Rodgers would be a legacy pick and I only said Dak because he’s done more to be on the cover than Caleb

I have a hard time believing Caleb is going to sell more copies of Madden than than Stafford, Maye, or JSN. Two of which outsold him in Jersey sales last season

jersey sales aren’t a metric of marketability, and i’m not saying that other guys weren’t more deserving of it either. they want to get people talking about the game, and look what the caleb choice has us doing.

How are jersey sales not a metric of marketability?
