In NFL years they are lmao. The Steelers are not in a place where they will be capable of contending for a championship in TJ Watt’s timeframe. This team requires such major overhauls, and doesn’t have a QB, or the resources to go get a QB. By the time the Steelers have any genuine hope for the future, Watt is gonna be washed or retired. Paying older players when you are not a competitive team makes no sense. Get a 2nd round pick for him and plan for your future.

I mean shit, the ONLY thing Watt does for the Steelers now is make them too good to actually get the draft capital necessary to get a high draft pick. This team for years has been stuck in purgatory of not good enough to seriously compete, but too good to get high draft picks and be able to rebuild around a young QB. This just prolongs it, and is gonna get Tomlin fired. You gotta accept sucking for a year or two if you want to have a bright future most of the time.
