eh, they picked up cooper rush specifically for this situation. he's not great but he's a proven backup that helped the cowboys go 4-1 when dak was hurt. there's no guarantee that shedeur, who couldn't even beat out another rookie, was gonna become their insurance policy instead.

Fair, but I feel like there could have been an actual chance for him to start. No matter what the owner paints the picture as, I truly do believe he pushed for the Browns to draft him, after they already had Dillon. While Cooper might have been in front of Sanders, there was probably a better fighting chance especially if the season goes to shit for them to rest Lamar and see what Sanders has as a back up or trade asset.
