He’ll get some run but he should enjoy it because he’s almost certainly gonna be gone or be a backup next year

If he was he’d be playing right now. And Gabriel will either be gone or be the backup next year too because the Browns are gonna be picking too high to not draft a quarterback. John Mateer, Dante Moore, Ty Simpson, Fernando Mendoza etc better be getting ready to learn Cleveland

they need to stop fucking drafting qbs, they just took 2 last year, one had NO reason to fall to day 3 just to start a 40 year old over both of them

Because neither are starting caliber, Shedeur holds the ball too long and takes horrendous sacks and Gabriel is undersized. They’ve got long careers as backups ahead of them but neither are QBs with the pedigree to be the longterm solution for the Browns. Mateer is honestly who I think they should take this year because he’s got the right attitude, is a phenomenal athlete, a great leader, and is just overall what teams want their QB to be. Give Stefanski a QB worth a damn instead of castoffs

People overrate Shedeur to an absurd degree that his tape doesn’t justify, he’s obviously got ability because he’s in the league but he’s not destined to be 1 of 32

i agree i dont think he was 1:1 last year but browns shouldnt have taken gabriel over him, saints passed on him, milroe went before him as well

Milroe has a much higher ceiling so that pick is justifiable, the Saints shouldn’t have taken a QB this year period, and the Browns taking Gabriel over him to draft him anyways should peak Browns

Seattle wasn’t drafting a guy to be the starter because they had Darnold, they’re drafting a guy hoping they can develop him into the best version of himself and the best version of Milroe is a QB that could win MVPs and the best version of Shedeur is Kirk Cousins but black

I like Mateer but his inconsistencies are a little bit similar to Baker’s and I’m not trying to see the Browns ruin the development of another talented QB and hope that QB lands somewhere else that’s able to develop them.

That’s who he reminds me of too, and as much as I don’t wish Cleveland on anyone I think Cleveland is a slightly better situation than anywhere else he could end up except maybe New Orleans

Plus, I think Baker was hurt by not being Stefanski’s guy and if Mateer goes to Cleveland he would be so he might get a little more leeway

I don’t have an issue with Stefanski however I don’t trust Cleveland’s FO to keep Stefanski long term to develop Mateer long term and that’s what I’m worried about.

They’ve kept him this long, he’s the best coach they’ve had since Belicheck and firing him would be generational incompetence

This is the Browns we are talking about, generational incompetence is their middle name.

That’s completely true, I just want them to take a step a forward

I think everyone does but they’re like that one loser friend or family member that’s never able to get their life on track and constantly makes bad decisions despite people telling them not to make those decisions.

Yeah, and I know they’ll probably fuck it up if they draft Mateer but if it works that would be such a good story

They need to either fire Stefanski rn and embrace the full front office and roster rebuild/give the new coach a team that he actually wants or commit to him for the next several years

Yeah, that’s what it has to be
