none of the consistent AFC powerhouses in the way, still chokes, and now has a first year head coach and the same previous GM. Window closed.

I’m not even saying he will win a Super Bowl, but this argument is so dumb. John Elway didn’t win a Super Bowl until his 15th season, Manning in his 10th season. Saying Josh can’t win one because he hasn’t yet ignores historical precedent

Claiming that was the Bills’ best chance because “Mahomes and Burrow weren’t there” is stupid imo, that was prob also one of the weaker Bills teams. Their best chance was prob 2023 imo. Do agree their chances are worse now tho, siding with Beane over McDermott was stupid

Every choking QB in this era gets compared to Peyton Manning and John Elway. Those 2 are outliers. Lamar, Burrow, Allen, and Herbert don’t ALL get to be Peyton Manning. Someone has to be Phillip Rivers, Andy Dalton, or Warren Moon

Nobody has to be anything. History isn’t going to repeat itself in the exact same way it did before. The NBA had 4 consecutive championships of Cavs/Warriors, and now there hasn’t been a repeat champion in 7 years. The distribution of super bowls in the 90s is not going to be the same as it is in the 2020s

Now if your point is that not everyone can win a Super Bowl, that’s true. And the likelihood that Burrow, and Lamar, and Josh Allen, and Justin Herbert etc all win a Super Bowl is obviously slim. Somebody is going to be left without a chair for sure. That doesn’t mean that we can guarantee that Josh is going to be left without one

Exactly. So expecting Josh Allen (or Lamar, Burrow, Herbert, or any other playoff choking QB) to magically appear in 4 super bowls in the back half of their careers is foolish. If anyone of them were going to win a Super Bowl, it would have happened by now

I agree with that except you made a big leap in logic with that last sentence

That is my point. It’s safe to assume that not all of the “hypothetical 4” will win super bowls. If anything, only 1 of them will

It was the best chance if you believe that the only thing keeping the Josh Allen bills from being a 2-3 time SB champion is the chiefs. But, that isn’t the case. Even if the chiefs never existed, Josh Allen and the bills would still have 0 rings, and this year proved that

Yeah that’s basically what I’m saying. They’ve been consistently like the 3rd-5th best team in the NFL and don’t have a style that’s consistent enough to beat 3 or 4 other top teams in a row
