I was really surprised the Seahawks traded for Nelson cus Grey zabel was really good last year but apparently he’s had a big sophomore slump so it’s def justified. I’m shocked they got away with Nelson without having to send zabel to Indianapolis

They’re gonna play Nelson on the other side

Anthony Bradford has been comically bad for a while and everyone fully believes in the rest of the team so it’s supposed to fix all the pass blocking issues and allow to use a zone scheme more effectively for the run. The main concern is the money cause they’re already running out next season with Byron Murphy being worth top dollar

Bad idea I feel like every football player I’ve ever heard talk about football has always said that switching from left to right guard is INCREDIBLY difficult

Few things 1) I was wrong they are looking at either guard to shift to the other side. 2) it can be a difficult adjustment but not typically for guys at that level and not for guys who 3) both guys have played multiple line positions. Zabel was a right guard his entire college career (may explain some of his occasional struggles) as well as both of them have played some left tackle for some reason

Either way a quinten Nelson or Gray Zabel playing on the other side of the center will be better than the 3% pass blocking grade of Anthony Bradford week 1 and how bad he has been

Also from personal experience it isn’t nearly as difficult as far as zone running and pass blocking as it is when you’re using gap schemes, double teams, and pulling guards
