Eh idk if that’s totally fair to say. He’s for sure the greatest of his generation, but it’s a team sport at the end of the day. It’s not just Mahomes beating Allen or Burrow beating Mahomes, just like it wasn’t Brady beating Peyton whatever. It’s the Chiefs beating the Bills, etc. I think Josh Allen has been the best qb over the past 2 years personally, but also hard to argue against Mahomes with what he’s done
But Brady is UNQUESTIONABLY the greatest of all time. Mahomes is the only person who has a realistic chance of catching up for now, but Brady played 23 seasons, made the playoffs 21 times, went 7/10 in super bowls, won 3 MVPs is the all time leader in just about every major statistical category. If you say anybody other than Brady is the GOAT you’re just tryna be different. He’s be #1 since like 2017, and then he won 2 more super bowls
I didn’t include Mahomes above Brady. The longevity and success that Brady had puts him as the clear greatest for me. Peyton Manning, Patrick Mahomes, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers to me are the greatest regular season QBs, and maybe you can throw Steve Young in there too, but Brady was not only a truly elite regular qb post 2006-2007, but he played at a high level in the playoffs and came through when it counted
But I think you got the top 3 right. For me it’s 1. Brady 2. Manning 3. Mahomes, but Mahomes is a couple seasons away from surpassing Manning for me. Just on the eye test like I said the guy is the best I ever seen. His accomplishments are close enough to Manning for me to put them neck and neck (cause let’s be honest we can’t credit that Broncos Super Bowl much at all to QB play), but Brady has accomplished so much over such a long period. If we give Mahomes time I’m sure he’ll get there
