As a new fan of hockey, how did everyone pick their teams? I’m struggling to choose a team to root for.

Was born in Pittsburgh, and my parents were big Penguins fans, so I’m a Pens fan. And then I found out about how close Crosby and MacKinnon are, so I started actively watching Colorado Avalanche games.

Regular season root locally. In playoffs if your local team gets eliminated root for the opposing team to who eliminated yours.

See I live in SC, which technically I’d cheer for Carolina, but it gives vibes that they only rlly represent North Carolina, idk

as a North Carolinian canes fan I gotta agree the Canes aren’t like the Charlotte teams, however if you’re within driving distance of Raleigh I think being able to attend home games is a big part of being a fan of any team, and being a canes fan is a lot of fun right now and probably will be for the next couple years
