I did research that!😊 I saw that preseason starts for NHL September 20 and the actually season starts October 7. I am trying to get a head start and learn all the rules and important things. But how the hell do you chose a team? I didn’t grow up on NHL or AHL. I grew up on MLB. But I want to start watching NHL, but how do you choose a team?

Like the closest team to me is the Blackhawks, but I really vibe with the Bruins. While I absolutely abhor the Lightenings. So I watch the Bruins the most. You’re not bound by your location to pick a specific team. Just watch a couple games and get a good feel!

Since I have been looking this stuff up, NHL videos keep popping up on my social media, so I have seen quite a few videos of the Bruins, Montreal Canadians, Blackhawks, some Tampa Bay Lightnings, and the Colorado team that I forgot the name of that starts with an A or has an A on the jersey.

Avalanches. They were actually the first team I ever watched cause I watched a random Hockey game in the middle of the season in 2023 and it was them. I’m still pretty new, but I’ve seen two Stanley cups and I’m pretty in love with this sport now. It’s real nice. NFL has been going downhill so I hopped on NHL and I don’t regret it. I really hope you like it! I haven’t seen AHL yet, but I probably need to cause there are two teams in my home state whereas there is none for NHL where I live.

From what I’ve seen so far, I already love the sport. I don’t think there has been a sport so far that I haven’t liked but I know NHL is making its way to Top 3. I wish I was that coordinated on a solid block in ice.

I think the closest ones to me would be the Washington Capitals when I’m home and Tampa Bay Lightnings when I’m not.

u could also spend now watching compilations (many people make them and the NHL themselves post funny / best moments / highlight compilations) and then spend the preseason watching games to see which team just kinda grabs ya!

Avalanches are cool and the bruins are rowdy. That’s what made me like them; they’re a team with spirit and personality (whether people think it’s good or bad).

Look, I know everyone hates Boston and they’ve had a bad season and they have rowdy players and fans, but I can’t help that I like them. They for fighting spirit. Better than liking the leafs at least

Yeah see, I can’t stand people who boo their own team. Like, if you’re a true fan then you’d support your team through the wins and the losses. The bruins had a sucky year, but I still support them and love them

I used to roller skate when I was younger. I live in a small town in the Midwest so we didn’t have any fancy ice rinks. But I have tried it recently and I really like it!

Ok that was kinda funny. I can’t tell you how depressed we were when Canada won 4 nations. The goalie in both US and Canada really showed how talented they were. Hellebuck was one of their names I think

I will say I don’t know all of the positions yet, but goalies are my favorite. Idk if it is just my own time as a softball catcher ages ago, but already goalies have a special place in my heart. It could also be from some of the books that I read🤷‍♀️

No I agree. You can’t win games if your goalie is worse than the other team’s goalie. They make or break a team to an extent
