depends on the “flavor” of conservative that they are honestly. if they are genuine understanding people that love their child, they probably won’t be happy about it at first but they can still learn to accept it, as they should. it’s their responsibility as parents. however if they are very obviously bigots and you feel like it would pose a threat to your health to do so, unfortunately i would wait until you don’t have to contact them.

if you do decide it’s safe to come out to them, just don’t do it suddenly, make sure you specify you need to talk to them about something and that they might not understand at first.
