Ik people are putting afab and amab, I’m genuinely wondering, like do I need to know in order to know the context or the situation? Just feels confusing bc I don’t need to know to be excited for you, idk can someone explain?

Sometimes it can inform the situation: afab and amab ppl usually have to take different steps towards androgyny (if that’s the goal) and they’re treated differently based on how they present like it’s often harder for amab enbys to not just be seen as men. Also genderqueer ppl are more likely to be neurodivergent and I know personally I’ll give all possible information when explaining something even if it’s not relevant

For me I usually only have to explain because I’ve been told I look like a really feminine cis man by 95% of people I’ve met (which also includes my boyfriend) and I’ve mainly faced issues with this when my female, afab nonbinary, and trans male friends complain about their periods and then get confused when I offer things they would need to get through a period when they don’t have it and some have even called me creepy for it until I explained

i only put it when talking about a situation of mine. since because of my agab that's led to me not being allowed to do a LOT of things in my life, i put my agab in these posts when talking about why it's so affirming to me. other than that i don't see a point in putting it down

i feel like all of my nonbinary experiences are afab related which is why i include it
