i hate HATE being told i dress/present “femme”. even by my queer friends!!! no. i present externally exactly as i feel internally and if society assigns my clothing the label of “feminine” then society is wrong.

“But you dress so feminine!” when I’m in cargo pants, sneakers, and a men’s shirt. And even if I did always dress feminine, that makes no difference on who I am.

literally!! istg people are just always looking for ways to place labels onto/categorize that which they don’t understand :( and the mainstream use of “femme”/“masc” dichotomy in the larger queer community has led many people to think that (1/2)

think that it is acceptable to assign binary gender dynamics to enbys (who’s very existence begs to differ) and it becomes problematic when terms gain the assumption of “always acceptable” because of their presence in queer spaces. because there will always be exceptions where a word shouldn’t be used (like assigning femme/masc to an enby)

also if anyone reading this does identify with a term such as femmel masc/etc, that is so so valid and does not negate your existence outside of the binary!! i am taking issue with a few cis people's outside attempts to categorize me into "femme" without thinking about whether I self-identify that way. Your self identification is always valid babes!!
