idk if this is part of my OCD but genuinely do you guys think about what would happen in a shooting here. Like this genuinely takes up so much of my time because I think of every possible outcome. It's daily and I can't focus in class it consumes me

i don't have OCD (joined to get some insight on my dad who has it) but i'm an early childhood ed major and when i go into the field, i'll map out possible escape routes and safety plans in my mind in case of a shooter. it's a depressing thought and idk how to make myself not think like that. also, if my comment makes the spiral worse, pls lmk and ill delete it asap, idk much about OCD spirals and whats hurtful or not

No you’re absolutely fine to leave your comment. I genuinely only have those types of thoughts and such in public, it could very well not be apart of my OCD at all but it’s a constant thought, sometimes I have to skip on plans because it gets so bad for me and if I go it WILL happen. Or like this post I had to wait till I was back home for at least an hour before I could post this because I convinced myself that I would cause it to happen

I think this one is such a constant for me because I wanted to be a teacher, I’m convinced OCD or intrusive thoughts go for what you love most.
