Also on a related note. I feel like, ever since starting therapy, I’m TRYING to give myself OCD. Does this make sense? Like I’ll have an intrusive thought and then be like “literally stop you’re just making yourself think this to make yourself feel less guilty abt going to therapy”???
Yk I feel like this happens when I go to the doctor for physical symptoms too, so I imagine it’s normal. I wouldn’t know from experience yet bc I just got diagnosed but I constantly feel like I’m lying about my somatic symptoms, let alone feel like I’m lying about OCD symptoms, so I’ll probably experience this too 😭😭
def sounds like an obsession with validation for your struggles, and invalidating yourself in fear of "making things up" or "lying about having OCD." tell yourself: "maybe i'm making it up/lying about it/don't actually have it, or maybe not" try to sit in that place of anxiety and uncomfort, and let yourself not have that clear answer or belief. that's the sort of exposure i do (in therapy) and it helps you get used to not giving in to those obsessive worries/doubts. i believe in you :)
