that’s not remotely comparable bro💀. ur comparing people in the past not knowing the future to people in the present believing something that was said to be true in the past. ppl in the stone ages don’t even know the concept of tech. people today are very aware of the bible and religion, many have read it and still believe in the fairytale concept of a firey pit they’ll go to if they’re bad and a sparkly cloudy heaven if they’re good. it sounds like a bedtime story for children
I mean we are the future to them just as after u die is the future to u. I would argue that most people don’t actually know about every religion well enough to say whether it is logical. And nothingness is equally as unimaginable as heaven/hell. When u think of nothingness do u picture just black. Well that’s still something. No one’s ever experienced nothingness either
exactly tho, the human brain is incapable of comprehending the concept of nothingness. however, heaven and hell is a concept that is extremely comprehensible and simple, suspiciously so. bad people go to a firey, torturous place with never ending suffering, and good people go to a place with endless bliss in the clouds. both are actual places and tangible endings, and are rather simplistic and cliche.
in reality the universe is very complex, and in no way does it make sense that something so ridiculous that sounds like it came out of a children’s book is what happens when we die. is it not suspicious that the main theory of what happens after we die is so convenient? it encourages people to be “good” in order to go to the good place. it’s easy to understand for even a five year old. the concept itself sounds precisely like something a human would create
