My fiancé and I are literally in an open relationship and even we agree no strippers at our respective parties. It’s fuckin weird to pay for someone to do something overtly sexual while celebrating your upcoming marriage

It’s like, let’s celebrate our commitment to one another independently by stopping short of cheating on each other 🤮 For my bachelor party, I would MUCH rather go to a sports game and then have dinner or drinks.

Besides the logical reasons like being able to file jointly on taxes and other scenarios where having a legal spouse is necessary, we love each other and the open part of our relationship is just a fun, occasional thing that works for us. But there’s a time and place, like right now we’re in the process of moving and just got engaged so we’re focusing on us only right now. I wouldn’t necessarily call our other flings “love”. We tried being poly but actually dating new people is exhausting
