Well for one on an English-speaking app I assumed users would be more British-aligned compared to say a Spanish-language community where I would expect more support for Argentina. Plus, (and I suppose I’m showing my bias here), almost all the inhabitants on the islands are British and want to be part of Britain. So I feel that if we respect the autonomy of the islanders then Britain would be the choice.

When Argentina invaded they didn’t treat the islanders particularly well. They proclaimed “we are liberating you from the British” and then announced that all the islanders better learn Spanish because now they had to speak it in schools. Just pretty basic violation of the cultural autonomy of the islanders.

Argentina did control the islands first (though it was actually French then Argentine then British). But Argentina had a lot of false history they use as a sort of national myth to bolster their claim. One is that the argentines were expelled from the islands by the British (they weren’t, they just assimilated with British immigration). Idk I guess I just default for what the inhabitants of a place want.

TLDR the Falklands are like the single place in all of human history that the British colonized without doing any crimes against humanity
