I think 3-4 is the exact perfect spot. They're far enough to experience their own milestones as individuals while still being close enough to relate and hang out. A gap of any kind can cause a small rift around the elementary to middle and middle to highschool transitions just bc of how fast kids develop but in later years it'll be insignificant
i’m 4 and 7 years apart from my siblings. it’s nice to have people who are so much older and smarter than me to be able to give me guidance. but it would be nice as well to be a little bit closer in age and situation to them so that i could relate more. it’s definitely harder when they’re on the younger side though. i didn’t get close with my siblings until i was in highschool. if we were closer in age i feel like we would’ve been closer earlier
