Does/did your undergraduate institution have “gen ed” or “core” requirements, that all students, regardless of major, had/have to take?

Yeah let’s make sure the people going to Lockheed Martin never take an ethics class

Yes but only specific things like environmental science and climatology for non stem, and something that teaches about discrimination and communication skills for stem I think most colleges already require the discrimination and comms courses

Yes but it shouldnt be held against you if you arent good at it! The grading thresholds for non major classes should be more generous and a separate 'gen ed' GPA or something like that would make a lot more people willing to do this imo people dont wanna take classes they wont be good at bc it gets held against them academically
