Louis Vauxcelles also inspired the name of Fauvism, after critiquing an exhibition that included Henri Matisse. A Donatello statue was in the same exhibition hall, and Vauxcelles described the exhibition as “a Donatello amongst the wild beasts” (Wild beasts translates to “les fauves” in French)
