To enlighten you I was referring to the crack epidemic of the 80s-90s where the cia turned a blind eye to Nicaraguan smugglers who they were in cahoots with. This resulted in crack being flooded into black and Latino communities around the country ultimately leading to these groups becoming addicted, higher crime and gang violence, aswell as incarcerations, hampering these communities ability to grow in a positive way, the effects of the crack epidemic can still be seen today. 2/2 I then compared that to the new cart “epidemic” due to the sudden explosion and normalization of carts. Ofc carts aren’t nearly as bad as crack is, I even took a blinker in the middle of me typing this.
