
i think its unnecessary and just used as an argument to further target trans people. the amount of trans women in sports is less than 1%. the amount of trans women that manage to make it to the olympics is even smaller. from research trans women have actually performed worse and struggle more than cisgender women and they dont actually benefit at all from being born male.
There has been one (yes, 1) trans woman in the olympics since they first were allowed to participate in 2004. She placed last. In weightlifting. Which people seem to think should be one of the prime examples of an unfair sport. There is zero reason for them to even consider changing the rule due to fairness on their own, it just has not mattered yet, they’ve caved to particularly loud politicians.
This shouldn’t be getting downvoted and #3’s reply is absolutely asinine. The only thing I want to add is that we should also be talking about how this is unfair to trans women. A lot of people are using the talking point of like, how it will hurt cis women and ignoring that trans women are being targeted.
