I’m not talking about his death at all, strictly referring to his beliefs. Did you support Charlie Kirk’s beliefs? As in, did you agree with him on most, if not all, things?

Theres gotta be an in between option. I support his stance on the 2nd amendment, but I disagree with his stance on abortion, so idk which option I should pick

I genuinely don’t know of a political position that man has held that I agree with. Maybe that he doesn’t support the holocaust or murdering gay people unlike some more far right people. But that’s the bare minimum. I think he also thinks women should have the right to vote? So I would agree with that.

Some yes and some no. The only thing I didn’t agree with him on was how extreme he was with his stance on abortion. I don’t like it but I think it should be allowed when it’s medically necessary and for cases of rape. Everything else, I was with him on

Beyond those two stances, he was a racist, xenophobic, sexist, transphobic, and homophobic white supremacist. So I guess it’s up to you where you’d like to tip the balance

He said kids should watch public executions, said a black democrat was part of an "attempt to eliminate the white population in this country,” believed in far-right conspiracy theories including great replacement and cultural Marxism, said he doesn’t want to fly in a plane with a black pilot, said that America should ban all immigration, and said a politician he disagrees with should be deported (Ilhan Omar), said the 1965 civil rights act was a mistake, called vaccine requirements apartheid

The dude hated Marx, and everything else is out of context. About the pilot, he was talking about DEI and how a black person was more likely to get hired over a white personal with similar, if not less qualifications. So no, he wouldn’t want someone less qualified to fly his plane

Ik he’s a big fan of getting rid of DEI because it focuses on race against merit. And when people say “I’m only here bc of DEI” of course he’s gonna question their abilities! He’s also said that “racism was created by society and race is a construct I want to break out of”

Yeah I know what he means by the black pilot comment. It’s racist because it assumes that if you see a black person in a position that they aren’t qualified to hold that position. You’re just repeating the racist thing not realizing it’s racist. The point of DEI is not that we should hire people who are less qualified based on their race, but that equally or more qualified people tend to be excluded from positions because they have been disadvantaged because of their race.

DEI never put race about merit. That’s such a tired and incorrect statement. When ppl would say they’re only there because of DEI that’s because they wouldn’t have had the opportunity because of race. DEI was established to ensure all avenues were explored for positions. If a company hired someone that was less qualified only because of their skin then thats the companies fault for pandering &/or not being thorough enough in the hiring process, not the fault of DEI but incompetent management

It’s like if you beat someone in a race after a third guy just shot them in the leg. It wasn’t fair from the beginning and you can’t go “see that guy was just a worse racer than me.” DEI is just trying to lessen the unfairness leveled against minorities. Many white people, having always been privileged based on their race, see a leveling of the playing field as persecution.

Lots of white men have been hired to high up positions over equally qualified minority colleagues simply because they were white men. But Charlie didn’t make those comments about the white men now did he. Because he though any white men must have gotten that position based on merit, while minorities didn’t deserve it

If DEI was truly about eliminating race as a factor, then people shouldn’t have to list their race on any applications for anything, like for college. Race is completely irrelevant and isn’t necessary in things like that. For jobs I understand that you can’t really get around that because of interviews but a solution is just doing phone interviews. Completely takes race out of the question.

Also he never said he straight up didn’t want a black pilot. He said that in regards to airlines saying that they want a specific amount of their pilots to be people of color, and he was concerned that they will prioritize reaching that number over hiring qualified pilots, and how if he sees a black person is a pilot, he’s hoping they are actually qualified and wasn’t hired to reach the quota that they said they were aiming for.

excluding race from consideration ignores the social realities that led to that person getting where they are. Many black students go to severely underfunded schools and are economically disadvantaged, so weighing them on the same field as an affluent white student who had a good school and who didn’t have to work doesn’t actually present a good picture of who is qualified.

If you look at a high-paying job and there’s disproportionately fewer black people or women holding that position, you have to either acknowledge that black people and women face obstacles reaching that position that white men dont (the reasoning behind DEI, even if you disagree with implementation) or you assume that they haven’t been disadvantaged and that therefore white men are just inherently more qualified at higher rates (racist, what Charlie Kirk does)

I am aware that black people are at disadvantages due to how they have been treated historically, but by saying that they should be weighed on a different field is precisely doing what I said. It’s focusing on that background and that disparity more than what they bring to the table. Wanting people to be judged on the same scales is not racist. I think to overcome the disparity that black Americans have been put in, we have to give them equal early education and opportunities.

I think that providing equal early education and opportunities is a fantastic idea. If you eliminate social and educational disparities you remove the need for DEI. However I don’t think many conservative pundits or politicians focus on or advocate for that. They are more focused on culture war issues, and right now are pursuing the defunding of public schools to funnel money to religious private schools.

And not all black people are in this position. They aren’t all economically disadvantaged, so giving someone a lower bar to reach when they don’t even need it isn’t right either. It’s essentially saying, “you are black, we’ll consider your application more intensely because you probably need this job more than a white person”. I completely agree that black Americans are behind white people due to how the country used to be, but it shouldn’t be solved with DEI

And i despise that as well. Every child should have equal educational opportunities.
