As long as you’re looking and applying for jobs. It’s tough out here.

I’m the anti-NEET (full time college student, part time job, and in flight training) so I just don’t think I’d be compatible w someone who has little/no drive and aspirations. If they’re at least trying, that’s good tho

No I wouldn’t. If I was in a good place and had a well paying job, then I wouldn’t care. But seeing as I’m sick all the time I definitely need a partner who has a good future ahead of them.

Indefinitely, no. I get it if you’re actively trying

Are there other connotations here besides just being unemployed? I would assume unemployment is temporary and therefore not much of a concern

When the term NEET is used to describe someone, it typically describes a mindset more than anything else, but I get you that everyone’s goes thru rough patches. That would be the worst time to get into a relationship tho imo

I wouldn't really call it equivalent to having no drive or aspirations.

Yeah, they could be independently wealthy, not needing to work or go to school.

There are other reasons to be NEET like trust fund, wealthy family or lottery winner.

#8 that’s why I added in the end “if they’re trying” lol, like if they have something else they’re working on like a business or art/music. Also, like I said in another reply, the word “NEET” usually refers not so much to the acronym as to a specific kind of person (redditor basement dweller) not every unemployed person is automatically a NEET

I still wouldn’t date a trust fund NEET, like at least use that money to pursue something other than hedonism

Pursue something like what?

Depends on what interests you have - could be a degree, starting a business, etc. just anything that makes you feel fulfilled. Esp if you have a trust fund, there’s no excuse to do nothing

No "excuse"? Like it's bad to just live and try and enjoy life? I don't understand

That’s valid, but in the context of the original question, I wouldn’t feel compatible dating that kind of person
