
Its not necessarily a higher chance to get in it just means your application will be considered and reviewed before non early decision applicants, meaning programs will have more space. Schools want retention and other good statistics and early decision gets that for them bc it implies that the applicant is serious about the school.

Well said, and you're definitely right, but since there's limited characters in poll questions, I did think it was worth mentioning it does usually help you just because you are going against less applications. You're absolutely right though someone who otherwise wouldn't be admitted wouldn't suddenly get admitted if they did ED instead
