If someone says “partner” instead of boyfriend, girlfriend, wife, or husband, do you assume they’re queer?

I assume it’s a long time relationship, whether married or not, queer or not

I wonder if they’re queer but don’t assume, IK plenty of straight people who say partner

I’m a girl and I like referring to my boyfriend as my partner because I see him as my life partner so it just feels more right than boyfriend

I assume they’re running a law firm together. Even if they actually are gay. Which is funny because I work for an ACTUAL law firm and to my knowledge none of the partners are gay🤷🏻‍♂️

many other countries use the term partner often so living abroad has normalized that for me. plus saying “boyfriend/girlfriend” just gives weird young/immature vibes to me lol
