I don’t think you understand what the metric system is

no one uses kelvin outside of science

When using in a casual setting like predicting the weather, temperature in Fahrenheit is way better because it allows for more precision. Every 10 degrees Fahrenheit (40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, etc.) has its own distinct feeling and way you prepare for the day.

The US already uses the metric system in certain contexts. You don't get your medicine in ounces. The UK has a similar hybrid system and hasn't fully switched to metric yet

Time is not metric, ever… and Celsius not Kelvin for temperature. So since you only have 3/5 valid metric measurement types I think you should start over. However, since I want to keep buying milk by the gallon and so much of our groceries come in lbs, I think length (or distance) is the first place to start. Get people accustomed to it when they drive. The apps we all use will speak out loud how far we have to go for certain things. We can start visualizing it without realizing we’re learning.

This is stupid. We already use all of those things in instances where it’s appropriate. If the question is what will the general populace accept first, the answer is none. I’ll never understand why anyone would want to switch to metric.

Mass and time are probably the least likely. Mass is nice because one pound mass weighs one pound force and time just isn't changing. Temperature is a maybe but only for Celsius, not Kelvin, and Celsius isn't even that useful for most things. Volume is the most likely since liquids already have both on their packaging in stores, although distance could also happen since a meter is close to a yard.

I’m going to correct myself. Time is not metric as we typically think of it. Unless you’re calculating something in fractions of a second like millisecond and kiloseconds or nanoseconds, it’s just a standard or military time application.

Thermostat arguments would be insane with Celsius measurements. People frequently argue between 71F and 72F but in Celsius you'll have three or four Fahrenheit degrees that are all lumped under the same Celsius number.
