“I mean I'm a girl and I watch porn." Being a girl doesn't make it harmless, it is very unhealthy. People usually frame porn as a "guy problem," so some women lean on that stereotype like it exempts them from criticism or concern. Do you agree?

No I don’t actually think it’s as big a problem as yall are making it out to be. There is something to be said about misogyny and the expectations for sex like - I don’t like the kind of porn being popularized, but porn itself is fine yall are just looking for something to be puritanical about

As a woman who is recovering from a porn addiction, every single time I tried to get help for this or reached out people told me that “girls couldn’t have that problem” or “they’d be concerned if I was a boy” and it realllyyyy made things worse for me

Oh I just commented as the other one was deleted.. I said I think the problems from it can differ in ways as well as overlap in others but it’s still a problem for women too

PART 1: I agree to an extent that porn can a viable source of sexual release but let’s be honest, most people out there end up overusing the hell out of it and it’s not helped by the way it’s designed and constantly advertised to you. As a guy who’s tried multiple times to break off from it and is still trying, I can say that porn changed me as a person for every second I was on it, mentally and socially. I wouldn’t go as far to say it should be entirely gone but I think it should be regulated,

PART 2: -whether individually-taught or by law. I think the dangers and risks of it should also be taught to younger people, the same way we warn them against drugs early on, especially since the porn industry gets a majority of its customers from children who discover it on their own with no guidance and end up knee-deep in it without knowing.
