Datacenters are necessary to support the internet we currently utilize. But the way they’re being constructed, the tactics corporations are using to pressure or bribe local officials, and the lack of environmental concerns make their current construction negative for the population.

There are regular data centers that don’t focus on training AI and those data centers use orders of magnitude less than the AI data centers and they serve society very well. AI data centers on the other hand use an entire cities worth of power and water while training the AI to “solve problems” nobody cares about

AI has the potential to make a massive positive impact on humanity but were gonna have to adapt to it. It’s like how the industrial revolution made our q of life so much better but also made us change the way we live. The answer is to plan ur future around the possibility of AI making some jobs obsolete not be become a modern luddite
