Imo it’s the least cool thing I’ve ever read about. They’re basically pastafarians who just call themselves “satanists” for the snooze fest plot-twist that -surprise- they actually aren’t anything of the sort! Go figure. The gimmick works exactly once (at most), and then wears thin once you know about it

yeah the definitions on who’s actually a Satanist isn’t super clear. The Satanic Temple, the one you get a card for online and the like, yeah, basically pastafarians. But there’s also LaVeyan satanism, which still isn’t actually worshipping Christian Satan, but is more formally a religious ideology
