Obviously you want sight and hearing. Touch is for survival and pleasure. Smell can be for pleasure or for a way to detect certain danger (smelling gas). But taste? I could lose a few lbs. I don’t need food to be tasting as good as it does. I’d treat it like fuel if it had no taste.

i smell everything all the time and most things smell terrible to me even though i’m strongly affected by bad smells, so for my own convenience, lose smell.

Most of the time, but our senses naturally decline as we age, and injuries, disease, or even mental health conditions can lead to hypoesthesia or anaphia!

I was explaining how it can happen. It’s possible to have nerve damage that affects afferent but not efferent nerves. It’s a complicated thing.

I'd lose my hearing (the sense your ears give you) because I'm already deaf (I can't hear with my ears so I'm used to it and wouldn't want to lose any other senses). That help?
