A business where you know or have some form of relationship with the owner will always be better. Businesses with less locations and more focussed business will always be better because they put more focus on smaller things that affect employees more.

I’m biased I’ve worked for several small businesses and seen every single one break labor laws because they were on a power trip. Policies seem to mean nothing when it’s just on a control freaks whim. They often pop up business in states where there is less worker rights too. It kind of softens my heart to see that so many have had good small business experiences.

Incorrect. The small businesses I’ve worked for will work you like a dog and when you finally get fed up with it they’ll claim that “no one values loyalty anymore”. The corporate business tend to stay out of your hair if you aren’t causing trouble.

That may be your experience, but that’s not mine. I worked in a corporate type job, I was micromanaged and treated like trash.
