
#1 Because they’re expensive and cost of living is already so high. #2 it’s less of a hassle to travel and lots of Gen Z prioritize or severely want to travel. #3 don’t want to pass on bad genes or medical issues. #4 kids of millennials are the some of the most fucking annoying disrespectful kids I’ve ever met
It’s weird, but not on an individual level. We should naturally want to have kids, and for most of history we do. But the fact that a lot of people don’t means that something is wrong, or weird. Usually during famines or diseases birthrates fall, but we aren’t currently in any sort of crisis. Something else is happening that is causing so much of the western world to not have kids, and this is a subconscious feeling, not a conscious logical decision.
I mean yeah?? The western world isn’t perfect. Sure, we have a lot more than other countries might but things are expensive, things that shouldn’t be. Like healthcare, housing, etc. I also think many have come to accept that they just don’t wanna be parents. Kids are a lot of work and we now live in a society where having children, especially as a woman isn’t as heavily pushed as it was in recent generations
