It’s factually not. You are who you are. You may change your identity, trying to figure out who you are, but you are who you are regardless

I’m a gay man and everytime I’ve been told it’s a choice I say “so when did you choose to be straight?” and they don’t like that. I also believe the people who say it’s a choice are closeted themselves and they made the decision to not be their true self and so they think it really is a choice.

I would say attractions to people change the same way your preferences for food change. Some things stay the same over lifetimes, but other things vary day to day. Different people have more or less variation. You don’t choose what you like, but it still can change.
