Dare I say its more thoughtful than just buying me things you arent sure ill like?? A gift card ensures money wont be wasted and the recipient can get things they 100% need/want

I think the best gifts are both practical and personal, but a gift card is a good safe option when you don't know what the person will like

It’s like giving money, but I have a reason to use it. Money = save. Gift card = money that I can use😎

For people I know real well and trust to get me something good I would prefer a real gift (like you can’t go wrong getting me an orchid I will always like that). Gift card is a great option though from like a grandparent so you don’t have to worry about them getting the wrong version of something.
