Their lack of wanting to know more about Swedish traditions (we’ve been in the US since the 1780s) annoys the hell out of me so I started actually celebrating that side of our family.

We fought for the union. We were involved in an abolitionist movement. We also have family still in the small town we hail from in Sweden. We’re the only family in the US with this last name. But no one in my family cares to learn about our history 💀

Oh dang what’s the last name may I ask?? Also one side of my family had a plantation and another side had some sons fight for the confederacy in the battle of Galveston 😭 definitely not all of us were confeds tho
