Asked this on my college page but I’d like a broader opinion. Is a migraine a valid reason to move the date of a presentation?

migraines can be sometimes really debilitating. Some of my migraines make it so I can’t see, any light hurts, sound hurts, and even with higher dosage pain reliever a bad migraine will force me in bed for a few hours.

As a person with chronic migraines I cannot even see when I have one let alone hold a conversation

It’s a zoom class, but the professor has cancelled before because he was sick (if that makes a difference)

U r not the professor and should NOT be held to the same standard as them. If I was a professor and my syllabus had clear guidelines on illness exemptions and this didn’t qualify I wouldn’t move it lol

Well I just meant typically the prof is held to a higher standard, so if he has missed for being sick then he doesn’t have grounds to tell us we can’t miss bc we’re sick

Higher standard? U have it backwards. It’s the profs world and u the student r just living in it. They have the power and the decision making

If I have a note from the doctor he has no choice but to let me move it, no matter what’s in the syllabus. I was simply asking if the general public thought it was a valid excuse

As a TA, you’re kinda weird ngl. Sounds like you got a hard-on for hierarchy
