The case hasn't been decided yet. Regardless though it's sickening to see this from my home state :/

That has nothing to do with the defense’s argument in the case, this is a pretty weird framing of it. The defense is arguing there was no attempted murder, no lethal force, that rather than assault it was self defense, and that the prosecution witnesses were lying and contradicted by the video footage. The case isn’t about whether “honor killing” is legal in the US, it isn’t, there would be no contest if that was the case the defendants were trying to make

The only way I can see people trying to argue for it is, “It’s their culture. We should mind our business. It’s sad to us, but normal for them.”

Ok so if your culture is sacrificing people including children to the gods or marrying children should that also be allowed bc “it’s our culture”. I hate when people say stuff like that 😭

Then they can go to a country that accepts their culture. We don’t accept killing people over differences in opinion here.

The fact that that case takes more than about 3 seconds to decide is insane.

None of those things should be allowed, unfortunately child marriages are still legal in too many US states if the parents agree to it

The basic procedural stuff takes much longer than that

I mean tbh I don’t think they deserve the basic procedural stuff. Toss them over a bridge and save some taxpayer money.

That’s a great way to get people who didn’t actually kill anyone murdered by the government, otherwise instead of doing what those parents did they could falsely accuse someone of something like that and get that person thrown over a bridge too

I don’t mean in every case ever.

Then what would determine which cases?

Bruh. Saying to toss them over a bridge was not a legitimate political statement. Move tf on and get off the internet.

You are assuming the defendants of a case you probably don’t know shit about beyond a YikYak comment that totally misrepresented the argument are guilty and wishing death on them.

You can think whatever you want, doesn’t make it true.
