Not necessarily, take family heirlooms for example. I know of people who have been in difficult financial situations that had diamonds passed down and hold onto them to sell in case they get desperate.

Or people that buy them on a whim, who really shouldn’t be spending that kind of money and will regret it later. It happens more than you’d think, especially with young couples.

I should clarify, I think reckless driving is more severe than stealing diamonds and the list should be organized to reflect that
