Growing up in a place that had both. If you were cool with the neighborhood weed dealer they were awesome. Yeah they break the law all the time, but they typically care about people in the community. It’s a bit hypocritical if they start selling harder drugs, but they will not fabricate a crime to take your autonomy away

See as a small white girl (who works in EMS and thus most of the cops in my area also recognize me) I personally have very little to fear from cops. But I’m sure for other folks the weed dealer would be a better choice

But neighborhood weed dealers don’t hurt people. They’re just trying to sell a 3.5. Most cops don’t hurt people but they have the legal right to. I don’t think the question is edgy. I think different people will look at this differently

There are a lot of factors that play into someone doing illicit drugs. Putting the blame on entirely on the guy seems like a good idea but it is not the whole picture

Yeah Im the guy who does said things. Id trust a dealer over a cop everyday of the week. Dealers dont use violence unless they have to meanwhile cops shot dogs for fun

That’s another reason I voted for the dealer. My plug wants me to make it home safe, and enjoy my weed/ have a good weekend. Like it’s literally his business. The cops business is 1st to defend public property, and then physical safety sometimes. That being said, I prob trust both as a straight white male

They do, but not for small level weed deals. And police violence happens too. Why can’t we just all admit that the other side has some good arguments why they feel safe with one over the other
