Dating becomes a relationship when it’s exclusive imo. The relationship is the commitment to each other.

dating to me just means you go on dates with someone, while a relationship is specifically going on dates with one person AND other stuff. So i would say dating does not equal relationship, but if you are in a relationship you are dating them exclusively

Dating is always a relationship but relationships are not always dating (example: FWB, FB, etc.)

The question is obviously referring to "being in a relationship". Dating is the stage that happens before you are in a relationship, and being in a relationship would mean being exclusive or official.
