I think political nuance is important, but its gotten to the point where you are either an advocate for democracy or you are a cuck for fascist Nazi geriatric Incel pedophiles

I like socialism, I want bigger changes than most of the US democratic party is willing to make, and I see MAGA as fascists. I don't really think that makes me that far left in the grand scheme of things but in the current political culture around me I feel like it kinda does

I don't believe in departing from tradition just for the sole sake of change, and I agree with the classical liberal (right wing) philosophies. But I also believe the government is justified in nationalizing (taking over) huge companies that have destroyed the planet, which would place me hardly left

Liberals are more centre than left of centre.

Liberals would consider me kinda conservative, conservatives would consider me liberal asf. I’ll say moderate but I’m pretty liberal except for two things that I feel are extremist views.

The colours are swapped; the left is historically associated with red and the right with blue

Bro what??? I was pretty young during the 2016 election and it's permanently burned into my brain as those colors because for some reason that's how I remember them, but it's real?

He’s talking about Europe mostly (communist = red)

Not just Europe. Left parties throughout the world are typically red

I disagree with Marxism on everything, on every level, especially with how it neglects the individual. But I'm not necessarily against socialism. So idk where I would fit

I think socialism in an ideal world would be nice but wouldn’t actually work in this world

Me too one thing I’m pretty big on is that the US needs to stop meddling with other countries and committing war crimes and instead should focus the money on our problems.

Curious what the two views are if you’re comfortable sharing

I don’t think you meant ill will, but departing from tradition for the sole sake of change is a reductive and inaccurate description of progressive philosophy. A progressive individual believes that well being can be improved through societal change, just as much as a conservative individual may believes stability & freedom is achieved by preserving tradition.

Someone could just as easily say “I don’t believe in following tradition for the sake of tradition”, but that would be straw manning the conservative position. Neither is arbitrarily advocating for the respective behaviors. They believe that said behavior is likely to bring about their desired outcome.

I disagree with trans women competing in women’s divisions in sports. Not being on hrt doesn’t change that there’s other significant physical advantages males have over females. & I disagree with providing free healthcare & financial assistance to illegal immigrants. I disagree with deportation (some are fleeing horrible situations), but I do believe our funds should be focused on helping American citizens first before we start helping others.

Trans women are at a disadvantage and why do you think *anyone* should be denied healthcare at all? Everyone deserve safety, housing, food, and education.

I do support other things regarding trans rights, but a lot of leftist consider me transphobic for the first thing. & I do want illegal immigrants to have a better life but I don’t think it’s right to help them first when there’s Americans without housing or food security. There was a situation in New York where they were getting financial assistance a few years ago that I disagreed with.

Because it *is* transphobic. Maybe push to tax the rich and defund the police and military. There’s no shortage of funds for ensuring everyone is better taken care of, it’s just being hoarded.

They’re not at a disadvantage to cis women. That’s a scientific fact. Males have 12 to 25% larger lungs than females of the same height. Hrt doesn’t change that and that increased oxygen support to muscles is such a significant advantage that it’s just not fair to the other ladies in the division. But I’m not gonna argue with dummies so I’m not replying more to this thread. Smh I knew this would happen😂

US politics lean right from the rest from the rest of the world, so “center” in US is closer to “right of center” at the global level, “liberal” is closer to “center”

That doesn't make sense to me though ... because my views are LITERALLY in the center of liberal and republican views. For example, I'm not "pro life" or "pro choice", I'm "here's a solution that compromises"

But what you’re essentially saying is “I’m not far away on the political spectrum, I’m just right”. Which - and I’m not trying is start an argument here - is arrogant regardless of what your opinion is. A spectrum is a measurement of distance based on a variable. If everyone is right of you, you are left

Capitalism is not a right wing ideology. It’s just an economic system. There are plenty of socialist right wing groups that I could get banned for mentioning on here

Locking people up in concentration camps, restricting healthcare, violating religious freedoms, and cutting funding for healthcare and support programs and services has never been progressive. It’s always been fascist.
