Amend? Yes. Abolish? Absolutely not.

No, it’s a great check to previous presidential powers. People who brought the truth to light while committing domestic espionage/treason should definitely be able to be pardoned.

Wow the TDS is real Also good luck getting Congress to pass it with a 2/3 vote and then getting 3/4 of states to ratify 😂

No I actually think the President (not Trump) should have more power. Either that , or the states should have more power. Rarely anything ever gets done quickly and thoroughly with Congress

Some level of threshold for approval in congress would be the easiest way to fix it IMO. Checks growing power in the executive and shifts some to the legislative which badly needs it

The main reason nothing gets done in Congress is that the executive branch has consolidated powers meant to be used by the legislative. Congress’ only way to check the executive is basically just withholding federal funds at this point. We do NOT need the President to hold more power.

Doesn’t the Trump camp have issues with the way Biden used the pardon power too? Our political system is built on checks and balances, advocating for a check on a completely unchecked power is not “TDS” 😭

You can not like someone getting pardoned/for what reason without wanting to get rid of it

Agreed, I voted no but would’ve voted for amending it if that had been an option. Requiring some level of congressional support would help stop abuses of the pardon, or at least be a step in the right direction. There have also been proposals to push that amendment in Congress, although I doubt they’re gonna get that done
