Your long distance partner hides opposite gender “friend” that likes them from you. They text or call anywhere from 2-4 times a week. Hung out once at a public place. Is this ok?

If he was upfront about all of it, I’d say it’s probably a beige flag. But the fact that he hid it and only did something when you got upset is a red flag for me

texting less than every day and hanging out publicly *once* just sounds like a friendship. Why is this so appalling to everyone else???

Not ok but not beyond saving. Though I wouldn’t have too much hope.

they met and went on a date 2 years ago. she still likes him. forgot to add that she blocked him while I visited him so I wouldn’t see her in his phone. sounds like a friendship

okay that seems like much more useful information than “they hung out once”

I’m appalled from the hiding. Why be in a relationship with someone if you cannot or won’t be honest with them.

I know. all I wanted from his was transparency and honesty but he couldn’t do that for me. I told him to pls stop talking to this person but I saw he texted her “I’ll text you still if you text me” and after I saw that I got so upset. He then finally blocked her.

Mmm not loving any of that. Honestly I’d find that to be a HUGE dealbreaker even if he did end up blocking her. You don’t wanna look like the controlling partner but he put you in that sort of predicament. I wouldn’t be surprised if he unblocked her and hid that from you too.

That’s the thing. I didn’t want to be controlling at all but now I already feel like I am. Honestly, I don’t trust any girl I would see in his phone at this point.

Personally I think the fact they hid it makes it substantially worse. Like hiding it implies you know something’s wrong or they wouldn’t want op to find out

Yeah he hid all of it, I think it’s hard bc we’re long distance. I only saw her name in his phone and that’s when he told me bits and pieces. Right away he said “oh she only was asking about what college I’m gonna go to” and later that night I got told way more information. He was texting, snapping, and calling her for 2 months (only a few times a week or less), but it’s just weird bc she likes him and BLOCKED him when I was visiting. I feel bad bc then the next day was his bday and we were
